Pickle AI is a sales tech company that helps sales teams improve performance through AI-driven call analysis. Sales managers and reps struggle to assess performance across hundreds of daily conversations, making it difficult to identify issues and optimize their approach. Pickle provides actionable insights from call data, enabling teams to refine their sales techniques and close more deals. The company brought me on as a design consultant to overhaul their web app, modernize the user experience, and position them to compete with top solutions in the market.

The Challenge: Turning Data into Action

Sales teams needed a better way to analyze their performance. The first version of Pickle's product lacked usability, with overly granular data, poor visualization, and an outdated UI. This created friction for users and prevented the company from attracting and retaining customers.

Our goal was twofold:

  1. Make it effortless for users to uncover valuable insights in their sales data.
  2. Redesign the interface to establish credibility and appeal to high-performance teams.

Research & Key Insights

Before diving into the design, we conducted research to identify the biggest pain points.

  • Overwhelming data: Users were presented with large volumes of granular information, but lacked the ability to identify patterns, trends, or meaningful signals over time.
  • Lack of visual clarity: Without effective data visualization, users struggled to assess performance quickly or extract actionable insights.
  • Unintuitive interface: Inconsistent typography, layout, and visual hierarchy introduced friction and made the product feel outdated and difficult to use.

We used these insights to guide the redesign, focusing on usability, data visualization, and a modern aesthetic.

The Solution: A Smarter, More Intuitive Sales App

We reimagined the Pickle AI experience with a clean, structured interface designed to help sales teams get value from their data instantly.

Defining the Visual Language

To ensure scalability, I established a reusable design system based on the company’s new branding guidelines. This included UI components, typography rules, and an interaction library to create consistency across the platform.

Data Visualization for Faster Insights

I introduced rich, easy-to-read visualizations for key sales metrics, allowing managers to assess performance at a glance. Trend analysis tools helped teams track improvement over time.

Streamlined Search & Filtering

Finding specific calls was a core user need. I redesigned the search experience with an intuitive filtering system, making it effortless to locate relevant conversations and insights.

Call Analysis Redefined

Users needed to review sales calls quickly without being overwhelmed. I introduced infographic-style summaries that highlighted key moments, customer sentiment, and primary keywords—keeping cognitive load low.

Trend Analysis at a Glance

Sales teams needed a clear view of performance trends. I designed a streamlined dashboard featuring 10 key metrics, including customer sentiment and call volume.

Managers can track team progress or drill into individual performance, making it easier to spot opportunities for improvement.
